President and Chief Investment Officer
Marcello is a co-founder of Greytown Advisors and has been involved in financial markets since 1982. He started his career in Banco Garantia (now Credit Suisse) in Brazil as a floor trader at the Sao Paulo stock exchange and later in the foreign debt trading group in a time when there was much turmoil in Latin American financial markets. Marcello was also a Vice President in the Emerging Markets Group at Lazard Freres & Co. in New York before transitioning into asset management in 1994. At Fintech Advisors, a hedge fund focused on distressed emerging markets, Marcello served as portfolio manager responsible for the Latin American southern cone countries. He moved to Miami in 1995 to become Chief Investment Officer at The Americas Trust Bank and the spin-off Biscayne Advisors, one of the largest dedicated emerging market fixed income managers of the late 1990’s. Marcello also served in senior investment roles at DLJ/Credit Suisse. Prior to co-founding Greytown Advisors, he was President at BAC Florida Investments and BAC Global Advisors from 2002 to 2013. Marcello earned his MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA and his BA in Finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Brazil.
Wayne joined the team at Greytown Advisors in 2014 after a 35-year career with JPMorgan. At JPMorgan Mr. Perkins was initially focused on Investment Banking and Asset Management in New York, Brazil and Venezuela. While in Brazil from 1982-1997, Mr. Perkins established and managed the Brazilian Asset Management business. In 1997, at JPMorgan’s Asset Management division in New York, Mr. Perkins was a member of the Global Asset Management Investment Strategy Committee, developed a quantitative screen for Latin American equities, launched and managed the Latin America Equity Fund, co-managed the Global Emerging Markets Fund, and managed SMA’s for Ultra High Net Worth clients of JPMorgan’s Private Bank. From 2000 until 2003, Mr. Perkins left JPMorgan to establish and manage a global equity quantitative behavioral finance hedge fund (RMJ Global Dynamic Value Fund). In 2003, he returned to JPMorgan, was a founding member of JPMorgan’s Latin American Client Investment Committee and opened and managed the Miami discretionary portfolio management business for the Private Bank, building and managing a team of Investment Specialists for the Latin American region, and advising and managing portfolios for Ultra High Net Worth Clients.
Mr. Perkins obtained his BA degree from Harvard University and attended third year law school at La Universidad Mayor Real y Pontificia de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca.
Luis Antonio is a co-founder and portfolio manager at Greytown Advisors. He is also responsible for corporate finance, private equity and investment research. Luis Antonio started his career in investment management at BAC Florida Investments and BAC Global Advisors in 2005 where he was a member of the investment management committee. His primarily focus was in emerging market credit strategies. Luis Antonio also held positions at Deutsche Bank and Real Infrastructure Capital Partners. At Deutsche Bank, he was involved in structuring, underwriting and marketing leveraged buyout transactions as part of the leverage finance group; he was also part of the real estate, gaming, lodging and leisure industry coverage group.
Luis Antonio holds a BS from Purdue University and an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York City.
Cy joined Greytown Advisors as an Investment Analyst in November 2015. Prior to joining Greytown, Cy worked at Cargill as a Professional Accountant. Prior to working as an Accountant, he worked for several years as a Merchant Assistant in the Agri-Commodity Trading departments of Cargill in Miami, serving primarily Latin America and Europe.
Cy earned his BSBA in International Business and BS in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, graduating magna cum laude. In June of 2017, Cy passed Level II of the CFA Program.
Chief Compliance Officer
Catalina holds a Juris Doctor and Master of Law degrees in Taxation (L.L.M.) from the University of Miami, and is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
Catalina has over 10 years of experience working in the financial industry as Compliance Officer for prestigious financial institutions, such as Broker-Dealers and Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). Catalina was the Anti-Money Laundering Officer of Credit Agricole Miami Private Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank's Broker Dealer, and has vast experience as Chief Compliance Officer for Registered Investment Advisors.
She also has broad experience dealing directly with the main U.S. regulators including the SEC, FINRA and the Federal Reserve.
In addition to having worked for financial institutions, Catalina has experience as an advocate for individual clients. At the University of Miami, she had the opportunity to be part of the Investors Rights Clinic representing under-served investors in securities arbitration claims against their brokers and financial advisors before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Sebastian joined the team at Greytown Advisors in 2017 after a six year stint with JP Morgan Chase in Miami. At JP Morgan, Sebastian worked as a Client Service Associate serving Ultra High Net Worth Clients located in Central America and the Caribbean. Prior at Chase, Sebastian worked as a Banker with a focus on Chase Private Client, a premium banking service offered to high net worth clients.
Sebastian earned his MBA and BBA from Florida International University in Miami.
Sarina joined Greytown Advisors in 2017 after completing her MBA in Finance and Real Estate at the University of Miami. Prior to receiving her MBA Sarina worked as a medical office manager for one year in the Chicago area. For her undergraduate education Sarina attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Spanish on a full, academic scholarship.
Sarina is currently working toward obtaining her Series 65 license.
